Capturing Expert and Institutional Knowledge. When people and operations move, the knowledge should move with them
When a process transfers, a site comes online, or an expert retires, we capture how the work is actually done, so it stays with the operation rather than the person.
The problem
When a process moves to another site, or the people who run it move on, the work has to be handed over: the procedure, and the judgment that goes with it.
Most organizations find the procedure only half documented, while the judgment and process knowledge of the experts rarely survives the transition.
What we build
The work, captured as it runs.
We record the processes in scope while your experienced people perform them, including the decisions and exceptions that never reached the written procedure.
The facility and the equipment, as built.
360° capture of the site and 3D scans of the equipment, so the receiving team sees the configuration they are inheriting rather than a drawing of it.
Structured into training, not footage.
The capture becomes procedures with steps, decision points, and assessments, so the receiving team has something to be trained and signed off on.
An AI assistant trained on the capture.
Questions get answered from your own captured material, rather than sending someone back to the originating site or through hours of recording.
A reference the next site inherits.
Searchable, updatable, and yours. The next facility starts from the same material, and improvements made there go back into it.
What the documentation does not hold
Most of what makes an experienced operation run well was never written anywhere.
How We Work
We capture it.
We scope the processes in question with your team, capture them on site, and produce the training the receiving group starts from. Capture is scheduled around the project, not the other way round.
Then it is yours.
Everything lives on 360Works under your account. If the scope is one procedure and one person, your own team can capture it there directly with a phone or a 360° camera.
FAQs
-
Knowledge capture means recording how an experienced person actually performs a job, on site and in their own words, and turning it into structured training that outlives their time with the company.
-
Written procedures capture the steps but rarely the judgment: the conditions that change the sequence, the checks an experienced operator runs without being asked, the way an older unit behaves differently. Expertise becomes automatic, and what is automatic is very hard to write down.
-
Most often a change rather than a budget cycle: a line or process moving between sites, a new facility coming online, an acquisition, a planned retirement, or a major equipment change.
-
A single procedure is usually a few hours on site. A full line or facility is a multi-day engagement.
